Uncle Eric

Our friend Eric came to visit us last week and it was awesome. I knew that he and Brian were going to have a blast together, I had no idea Addy would bond with him so quickly. After one day it was no longer comments about "Daddy" it was always "Daddy and Eric." When they would go out she would say "Are Daddy and Eric home yet?" or "Daddy and Eric at baseball?" or "Eric still sleeping?" She loved playing with him, she went on the potty for him (but not for us) and she wanted him to come up and say good night to her (but not us). So cute! They had so much fun together and even after he left she was still asking about him, "Eric downstairs?" or "Eric still sleeping?"

Addy misses Eric, and we do too.

Ballerina, Princess or Queen

Adelyn is really into dressing up and pretending and lately her favorite is to be a ballerina. She will ask to get on her tutu and then say she is a ballerina and then will spin and spin in circles until she falls down. One day she insisted that I was a ballerina too and would only refer to me as ballerina. (saying things like, "come here ballerina", "that's ok ballerina" and "let's go ballerina") So then a few days later when she wanted to dress up I assumed we were ballerinas again. But she quickly corrected me and said "I'm not a ballerina, I'm a princess." When I asked if I was a princess and she said "No, you're not a princess, you're a queen."
Of course, I should have known.

Girls only!

Last weekend I invited a bunch of my friends & their kiddos over for brunch and it turned out to be a girls only party. 5 girls from almost-two-years-old to almost-four-years-old. It sounds like chaos, but it was really great. It was awesome to see the girls play together and it was great for all us moms to catch up. Of course none of the pictures turned out that great, but we tried.

Happy Easter!

What a great Easter weekend! We finally had some warm weather, and Addy got to do five Easter egg hunts. Yes, five! Her first one was at school on Friday, and I actually left work early to be there.  It was hilarious!  It was pretty much mass chaos with 10 two and three year olds running around looking for eggs, but it was really fun and Addy loved it.
Then on Saturday we went over to a neighbor's house to dye Easter eggs. Addy wasn't sure what to think (actually she did know what to think and she was NOT into it). She didn't know other kids were going to be there and pretty much only wanted to play with her friend Sabrina. So while we waited for the official egg hunt to begin, we did a mini one with just Addy and Sabrina. They were into it and did a great job of finding them, so good that there was question as to if they needed a head start for the egg hunt with the big kids. They got one anyway and came away with tons of eggs.
Then on Sunday, after a visit from the Easter Bunny and another egg hunt at our house we headed to some relatives of relatives for an Easter lunch. It was amazing! Not only was there tons of yummy food (with plenty of desserts) but they had an enormous yard with a play set that Addy had all to herself.  There were even horses next door!  It was the best back yard ever! I think Brian and I loved it as much as Addy did. It was a beautiful day and Addy did an awesome job with her fourth and final egg hunt. This one was the hardest because she had to carry such a huge basket around. She immediately opened everything and put every sticker she got to good use.

Dress Up

The other day I came home from work and Addy and Brian weren't at the table like usual. It was quieter than normal so I wasn't sure if they were home or not. Then out popped Addy dressed up like this!

It was so hilarious! She was so proud of herself & came up with idea (and the outfit!) all on her own. We laughed and laughed forever.

April Boo's

This was a rough weekend for Miss Addy and a rough start to April. She took a tumble down the stairs yesterday and has been semi hobbling with a bum toe all weekend (even though we've tested the toe thoroughly and everything seems to be fine).  Ever since then she's insisted that we carry her everywhere, which is not ideal. Tonight, we went outside on her trike, but Mama got too ambitious and Addy fell off and got a bloody lip. Luckily, she recovered quickly (this girl loves ice packs!) and wasn't afraid to get back on the trike again. Here's hoping the rest of the month goes a little smoother.
