Mondays

Addy knows the days of the week, but has no concept as to what they actually are.  She will randomly throw out days and say things like "oh we did that on Tuesday" or "tomorrow is Sunday." But she definitely has a favorite day and that is Monday.  Adelyn isn't saving up for a rainy day, she's saving up for a Monday.  Everything is Monday.  Here are just a few examples:
- Addy you can't drive the car today. "OK, maybe on Monday I can drive?"
- "Mama can we do some dancing on Monday?"
- Addy we need to put that away and get ready for bed. "OK, can I get it out on Monday?"
- "Can I eat some more of that on Monday?"
- "That was fun, I want to do that again on Monday!"

School Days

A little backstory before the big reveal. Addy's school does pictures every year.  Pictures where they bring in the photographer and have the cheesy background, the whole nine yards. Last year's photo was possibly one of the worst ever taken of Addy. It was really, really awful. Lucky for us they use the picture at school to identify Addy's cubby so we get to look at this not-so-flattering picture every single day. Well this year I was hopeful that the photos would turn out better, but of course I forgot it was picture day and didn't really dress her as planned so it wasn't off to a good start. The pictures showed up a week or two later and they just made us laugh so hard. I see a mix of a toddler and a senior in HS. Brian and I keep talking about how we just can't believe how much she has changed over the past few months and I think these pictures perfectly capture what a big girl she is. And, most importantly, they make us laugh every single time. 

If you pee-peed in the potty shout hooray!

Today was a big day for Adelyn! She decided that she wanted to wear underwear to school. I will admit I was pretty skeptical if she was ready for this or not because it was just over the weekend that it seemed to really "click" for her, but she insisted on not wearing pull-ups. So we packed a bag with extra underwear and clothes just in case and went to daycare. I warned the teachers and called Brian to let him know. It was such a wonderful surprise to come home and see Addy sitting at the table in the same pants and underwear that I had put on that morning. She had made it all day without any accidents and went in the potty every time! Brian and I were so proud and you could tell Addy was too. She was just beaming and had a huge grin on her face, it was the cutest thing ever. As a reward for her special day, we all had ice cream and Addy could not have been more excited. Right after the ice cream she announced she had to go pee-pee again and went to the potty and did it. Just as she finished she announced "yay! I went pee-pee again and now I get more ice cream."
She is one smart little girl who is quickly becoming our big girl.

Denver

After spending a few days in Wyoming we headed back to Denver to see our friends Allyson and Tomas.  It was so funny because when we would talk about them Addy thought Tomas was Thomas, as in Thomas the Train, so she kept saying, "Oh I love Tomas." When she finally met Tomas I think she was just a little disappointed.  A few days later when I mentioned to her about Ally and Tomas she said, "just Tomas, no train."
We left the cold, wet weather in Wyoming and drove into the warm sunny weather of Denver.  While there we walked to parks, went to see real Dinosaur tracks, saw the Red Rocks Amphitheater, walked around Denver and went out to eat.  Addy was great and even got to be the big girl with one of their friends who has a 1 year old.  She also got her exercise in by chasing their dog Bailey around.  The poor dog wanted nothing to do with Addy and acted like it was being tortured whenever she tried to pet her.  As we were leaving to go to the airport Addy said, "I like Colorado, it is fun." We agreed.

Capturing Casper

Here are a few more photos of our time in Casper. Addy trying out authentic western wear, seeing the "wildlife" at a restaurant and a waterfall on Casper Mountain. Even though the weather was cold and rainy, we made the most of it. 

Hair Cut

While in Casper, Brian's mom gave Addy a haircut. She was so good & sat perfectly still during the entire thing (it helped that the TV was in perfect sight). We had been talking about it so Addy kept saying "Gramma will give me a haircut on the trip" or "I get my hair cut, but only Gramma can cut my hair." It helped even her hair out and the mullet is gone! Now if only she would grow in thick long hair...

Casper

While in Casper, Addy got to see lots of her Evert relatives. Below are pics of Addy with her Great Grandparents, her Grandparents and her Great Aunt and Uncle, Craig and Pam. She warmed up to them right away and gave out lots of hugs and kisses. She couldn't get enough of the tutu & accessories Gramma Wendy brought for her. She had an endless supply of fun things to play with and show off.
