After Cameron's baptism we had a small get together with some friends, family and neighbors and it was a great time. The weather didn't quite cooperate but the kids did! It was a lot of fun and was a very special day for Cameron.

Cameron's Baptism
Cameron's baptism was on Sunday and it was such a great day! Unfortunately we didn't get the gorgeous weather from Saturday, but it really wasn't too bad. Cameron was great for the baptism, but gave us some excitement by having a blowout on the way to church. Luckily all was well and he was a perfect angel during the service. I can't get over how adorable he looked in his little vest! We had a brunch at our house afterwards and it was just a great day. We felt truly blessed, right along with Cameron.

Papa Makes Me Smile
A few months ago I was shopping for Addy and found a shirt that say "My Papa Makes Me Smile". I knew I had to get it and since my Dad came to visit us last weekend so it was the perfect time for Addy to wear it (even though I forgot to take pictures!). I think it's fair to say that Papa made both kids smile and they made him smile. It was so sweet to see him with Addy and Cameron. He spent all of Friday with Addy and took her on a ferry ride and to her dance class. It was so cute! He also got to spend a lot of quality time with Cameron. He didn't believe us, but just holding Cameron while we got stuff done was so helpful! My Dad couldn't believe what a happy baby Cameron was and thinks he's going to be a singer because of all the sounds he was making.

Stats
I took Cameron to the doctor this week for his 6 month checkup and his stats were as follows:
Weight: 18 pounds (60%)
Height: 27 3/4 (90%)
Head: 17.5 (70%)
His size continues to impress me. He is actually 2 pounds more than Addy was and over an inch taller. We actually thought we'd have to switch him out of the infant seat, but we still have a few pounds to go. Although I can barely carry him in it anymore anyway.

One Tapato Two Tapato
Disclaimer: I realize this post won't translate well since it is one of those "you had to be there stories" but since this is a record about my kids I have to have this written down so I can remember it someday. It will always bring a smile to my face.
Every night I read to Addy before bed. The patience she has for books still amazes me. Several months ago we were reading a nursery rhyme book and there was a rhyme called One Potato, Two Potato. The whole thing is just:
One potato, two potato,
Three potato, four;
Five potato, six potato,
Seven potato, more!

Well for whatever reason Addy started saying this over and over but she kept saying tapato instead of potato. It was one of those things that made me laugh so hard I cried. It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud, but given the right circumstances, once I start it's hard for me to stop. This was one of those times and Addy couldn't stop laughing either. So there we were both laughing hysterically, truly until it hurt, saying "one topato, two tapato" over and over and over. We couldn't ever get past the first line because we were laughing so hard no other words would come.
This moment must have really stuck with Addy because to this day as soon as she starts to say "one tapato, two tapato" she starts laughing instantly and hysterically. Occasionally it makes me laugh loudly, but never quite the same as the first time so I think it confuses Addy that I don't react the same each time. What I find the most fascinating is when a new funny situation happens that makes me laugh, Addy almost always brings up one tapato two tapato. Just tonight we were laughing about something else and she mentioned those words. I think she's always trying to recreate the magic of the first time and to see if she can get me to laugh as hard as that. I love that it's so easy for her to go back to that original moment and her reaction and it's a good reminder to me to just stop and enjoy a good laugh when I get the chance.

Splish Splash
It was a beautiful Father's Day weekend so we got out the kiddie pools and let the kids play. Cameron loved splashing all around in the water and Addy loved splashing us. It was pretty much chaos but they both had fun. I think Brian had a good Father's Day and I know he's got two kids who think he is the best Dad in the world! I think I'd have to agree with them.

6 months
Cameron turned 6 months on Thursday. I really don't know where the time has gone. I cannot believe he is 6 months old already. He is definitely mobile and can roll and spin his way around the room. He can sit up by himself for long periods but still does the occasional faceplant. His favorite person in the world remains his big sister Addy and he loves going to his room at daycare. His face lights up when he sees his teacher and she says that he is a "no drama baby." He remains very smiley and easily laughs, when these pictures were taken, we actually kept him home from daycare because he was so sick, but he still turned on the charm for a photoshoot!
We gave Cameron his first food this weekend and tried avocado, just like with Addy. He did not seem to care for it much, he definitely preferred to just play with it and make a big mess!

Pool Party
On Sunday we got together with my mom's group for a BBQ and a pool party. It was so fun to get all of the families together and see how much the babies have grown. We were lucky to have sunny weather so both kids got to go swimming. It was Cameron's first time in the pool and he loved it. He kept slapping his hand on top of the water and it would splash into his face, which would make him do it over and over again. I don't think he ever realized he was the one doing it, but he didn't complain too much. I think he'll be a natural in the water. Addy had a blast and enjoyed being the center of attention since she was the only big kid there, and for awhile had the pool to herself!

Good Times, Good Sign
After Addy's soccer class we walked downtown to the Farmer's Market which is one of my favorite things about summer. We picked up some delicious fresh fruit and veggies and then realized there was a little fair for the local YMCA taking place. They had a bouncy house, face painting and games. Addy was in high heaven. She is at the perfect age for all of these things. She loved the bouncy house and didn't want to get out, but we persuaded her with face painting. She was so enamored with her "fairy face" that she didn't want to be touched the rest of the day in case it came off. She even got to sit in a real fire truck and she wasn't shy or afraid. It was so much fun and it's always the sign of a good time when both kids fall asleep on the 5 minute drive home.
