The Presents
All week long Adelyn was getting cards and presents in the mail. We got to celebrate her birthday all week! It was more than a little ridiculous, but thank you to everyone! Here are some photos of her opening some of her gifts throughout the week. She was really excited about them all, but I think I have a fashionista on my hands, she seemed really into the clothes!

Costume Party!
Today was the big costume birthday party for Addy and it was a hit. We had so much fun and all of the kids looked so cute (and some parents too!). Our little lady bug was great throughout the whole party. Addy is very lucky to have so many friends and we certainly feel the same way. It was a lot of work to get ready for this party so I can't say that I would want to go this big every year but it was definitely worth it for this milestone. I think it was as much about Brian and I celebrating surviving the first year as anything. We've made it 1 year and so far so good, we seem to not have ruined her yet!
Here are some pics from the big party.

Happy First Birthday
Adelyn turns 1 year old today. I cannot believe it. This is has definitely been the most amazing year and it's so hard to believe she is already having her first birthday. Where did the year go? It is quite the fun-filled week for us. Yesterday was Brian and I's third anniversary, today's is Adelyn's birthday, tomorrow she has a Halloween Party at daycare and Saturday we are having a big birthday party for Addy.
For the last month or so we have been asking Addy how old she is and pointing 1 finger up in hopes that she'll do it. She's done it a few times now, but I'm pretty sure it's always accidentally. She does however point at everything now. Every morning when I pick her up out of her crib she points at something as if its the first time she's ever seen it. It's adorable. Her other big milestones include walking while just holding onto one hand, walking everywhere around the house holding onto furniture, crawling up a few steps on her own and dancing to music whenever it's on.
I knew having a kid would change my life forever, but I honestly had no idea it would be this good. We feel so incredibly blessed to have such a smart, healthy & happy baby. It really doesn't get any better than this. Happy Birthday Adelyn! We love you.

Sharing
Over the last several weeks Adelyn has shown us several times that she knows how to share, as long as it's on her terms. Her favorite things to share include her nook or bottle. She will take either one out of her mouth and offer it to Brian or I. She really thinks this is hilarious. She also likes to offer us her food during dinner. Her signature move is to try and put the food in our mouth but then at the last minute put it in her own. She laughs every time she does this. She is not a big fan of sharing everything though. If you try and take something from her before she is ready she definitely let's you know she's not happy about it.

October Birthdays!
Today Adelyn got to celebrate her birthday early since we had a big party for all of the PEPS babies. All of the babies in the group were born in October so we decided to have a big birthday party for all of them. Addy got to try her first cupcake. It was great to get everyone together again and I can't believe they are turning 1! We got to do the famous couch picture again and no one fell off. Everyone is reaching different milestones (no one walks by themselves yet) but they all still have a lot in common, including being more interested in the packaging than the present. Except of course Addy is the only bald one!! Maybe by her 2nd birthday she will have some more hair.

Fall Festival
It was an absolutely beautiful fall weekend so today we headed up north to the "Fall Festival" and went to a pumpkin patch and corn maze. It was so much fun. Addy loved to see all of the pumpkins, had a great time in the corn maze and went on her first hay ride. We got to make s'mores and try pumpkin pancakes. Fall has always been my favorite time of year and it just doesn't get any better than today.

Hide And Seek
If I ever can't see where Adelyn is, I always have a pretty good idea of where to look first. Her favorite place to hang out is underneath the computer desk. She is always there. No toys or books seem to be as exciting as whatever is happening underneath there. This is pretty much every Sunday morning, Brian getting his fantasy football team ready and Addy playing under the desk.

It's Always Sunny in San Diego
Our friends Erin, Jason and Baylee from sunny San Diego braved the rain this weekend to come visit us. We had a great time, as always, and the weather wasn't a complete wash out. We had tons of fun hanging out and the two girls did extremely well with each other. Here's a pic of Addy wishing Jason a Happy Birthday, Erin taking her sweet time with the crab dinner (notice there is no one and nothing left at the table), Baylee and Adelyn spending time together.

Rest Easy
I'm happy to report that Addy keeps getting better every day, but I know we made the right decision by staying home. Her cough has been especially bad, so bad that at least once a day she coughs so hard that she throws up. That hasn't been so fun. Luckily she has been taking some serious power naps which I think are really helping things, her ears don't seem to be bothering her. She is in good spirits and we've had a lot of fun hanging out. Although I'm definitely looking forward to Brian coming home, being a single mom isn't for me. I'm not a night owl to begin with but I keep going to bed earlier and earlier each night because I'm just so exhausted. I think if he was gone any longer Addy and I would be going to bed at the same time.
