Cousins in Town!
Last weekend my sister and her family came to visit for 5 days and it was SO MUCH FUN! Everything just worked out perfectly and we were able to do a ton of fun things while they were here. They arrived on Thursday and I spent the afternoon with them downtown Seattle showing them the sites. We saw the market, ate some food, saw the first Starbucks, ate some food, walked to the waterfront, ate some food and did some shopping, and ate some food! Luckily the weather cooperated and we were able to escape the rain. The most amazing part was that Sydney ran into one of her friends from Minnesota at the Pike Place Market! On Friday they decided to head up to Vancouver and braved the rain, but had a great time in Canada. When they got home the older cousins watched the younger cousins and the parents had a night out. It was perfect!

Painting Time
For Adelyn's birthday party, she choose to have a ceramic painting party. Everyone got to pick out a piece of ceramic and paint it however they wanted. It was really fun and all of the girls (and Cameron!) were really good and had a great time. They did a great job with the painting and then had fun eating cake and Addy got to open more presents. She was all smiles all day and we are officially done celebrating her birthday! It was a blast!

Happy Birthday Adelyn!
Adelyn was very lucky this year as she got to celebrate her birthday several times! On her actual birthday it was her 3rd celebration and of course she loved it. She woke up extra early that morning and headed downstairs to see all of her presents on the table. She couldn't wait to start opening them. She tore into them all in record time and was excited because it was a special day at school. Daddy was going to be in the classroom for a few hours helping out with pumpkin craft day. It was also an early release day (all week!) so after school was out Daddy took the kids to revelations for a special birthday treat. She got cards from everyone at her school and her teacher & classmates helped make a super sweet birthday sign for her.
Addy got to pick whatever she wanted for dinner and her choice was "breakfast for dinner" so we had pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs.
If that wasn't enough, Cameron had a halloween event as his school that Addy got to go to and then after dinner, I took her to the monster mash at her school. It was an extra special day for a wonderful 7 year old!! Where has the time gone?

Cameron's Conference
This week we had Cameron's preschool conference and it just went great. We love his teacher and clearly she loves Cameron too. The first thing she said is that she wishes she could clone Cameron so that all of the kids could be like him. She loves having him in her class and remarked how sweet, funny, smart and kind he is. It made us very proud!
She is a fantastic teacher and does an awesome job of keeping parents informed of what they are doing in the classroom. After the conference she followed up with an email with some of her favorite photos of Cameron. Doesn't it look like fun?

Car Museum
While the girls were shopping and enjoying the birthday party, the boys headed down to the car museum. The following is dictated by Cameron, he is sitting on my lap making sure I type exactly what he says.
I liked going to the car museum. I saw a race car on the wall without any hangers. I got to drive a car that was an electric SUV. Then I saw a firetruck. Then we went down, down, down, down and we drove a car. Then we saw a different car that had a roof with a hole in it. My favorite thing was the car I got to drive. Grandpa's favorite thing was the race car hanging on the wall with no hooks. Daddy's favorite was the truck with flags on it. We saw another race car that wasn't hanging, it was just on the ground.

Ice Caves
This post is written by Addy, typed by Mommy.
On Sunday, we (Grandma, Grandpa, Daddy, Cameron & me) went to the ice caves and we went on a 2.2 mile hike. It was a very long hike, I was so tired when we got back into the car to drive home. The drive home was so long.
We saw a mountain that had 5 peaks together and we saw 8 different kinds of flowers. There was a waterfall running down the mountain and that turned into ice that formed into an ice cave. When we were almost to the ice cave it got cold because we were closer to the snow. When I saw the ice cave it looked like foam. Cameron was so excited to go to the ice caves and he thought he could go in but it was too dangerous.
Cameron adds:
I was so excited to go on the hike and I loved to see the ice cave and it looked like foam. I wish I could go down and inside the ice cave.

Early Birthdays!
Another exciting part of the visit from Grandma & Grandpa is that they brought presents for Addy & Cameron for their birthdays so we got to celebrate early! We made had a birthday party and even found a s'mores cake! The kids loved it (of course) and got so many awesome presents that we got to play with and enjoy with Scott & Wendy. The legos were put together by the next day and we played the games that they got which were really fun.
