20 months
Addy is now 20 months old. There are days when it feels like we have a 3 year old on our hands. She is saying so many words! Every morning we walk through everything she sees and it's amazing how many words she knows. She is obsessed with socks. If I bring her downstairs in the morning before she has her socks on it's a problem, we have to go back up and get them. She is really good at eating with her spoon and fork and now insists on having a napkin to wipe her hands and mouth with. It is the cutest thing! She has definitely slowed down on her food intake, now it takes forever for her to finish a meal and she has become very picky about her foods. She also now has what I call her "strong man voice" which is about the funniest thing you've ever heard. It's like her grrrr voice for everything and it makes me laugh every time she does it. Next week she finally moves to the "waddler" room at daycare, it's been a long time coming but no more infant room for Addy. We'll see how that transition goes. Here are some pictures of Addy at 20 months, including one of her doing her infamous yoga pose.

Rock N Roll
This weekend my friend Ally & her husband Tomas came to visit and to do the Rock N Roll half marathon. They did an awesome job in the race (seriously how do people run that far?) and then still managed to find enough energy to see most of the major sites in the city. It was kind of fun to play tourist for the weekend and revisit some favorite spots. It was Addy's first time to the Troll & she enjoyed some time at Lake Union and on the waterfront. Addy had a great time showing off for them, she didn't do all of her tricks, but she did managed to run back and forth a million times in the morning to ensure they had no chance of sleeping in. We all hope they come back again soon!

Happy Father's Day
Everyone who knows me knows that I think the world of my Dad and I'm positive that Addy feels the same way about hers. She just lights up when she sees Brian and he is so engaged with her all of the time it still melts my heart. They have so much fun playing together and he is always teaching her new things. Brian took a much deserved trip away with the boys and has been gone for the last several days. Both Addy and I miss him a lot & can't wait for him to come back. Each time I've read a book to Addy that has a Dad in it she points to the Dad and yells "Daddy" and then gives him a kiss. And when Brian calls she blows him kisses through the phone, it's adorable. Addy knows she's got a good one. We are both very lucky girls.

One Week
These pictures were taken one week ago yesterday. I only took them because Addy was so giddy happy it was just too cute not too. She was beside herself happy and everything was so funny to her. Unfortunately one week later we have a different girl on our hands. Addy came home from daycare on Wednesday with a slight fever and over the next 12 hours it just got worse and she was unhappy it was heartbreaking. She had a permanent sad face and you could just tell she wasn't feeling well. She just wanted to be held. I took her to the Dr. yesterday and sure enough she has an ear infection in both ears! The Dr. even said that we should probably consider having tubes put in since she has had so many infections. Not something I want to think about right now, first we have to get through this round. What is making it exceptionally difficult this time is that Addy is refusing to take her medicine. Every other time she couldn't get enough of it, but this time it's a totally different story. I feel like I have to wrestle her every time just to get it in her mouth and then hope that she doesn't spit it out. Lucky me, she has to take it twice a day for 10 days. Two doses down...eighteen to go.

A Walk in the Park
It was a nice day yesterday so we decided to get out to do another hike & this time we packed a picnic. We hiked down to the sound and Addy got to play on the rocky beach. She loved throwing the rocks into the water. She took a few tumbles on the rocks (I actually got a picture right before one spill). Brian also found a tiny crab that she thought was pretty interesting. It's no surprise that we had to cut the hike short to get back to our picnic, Addy was hungry!

Radio Flyer
Now that the weather is getting nicer we decided Adelyn needed some sort of trike to play with outside. We found a deal on craiglist and Addy got a radio flyer trike with the huge handle so we don't have to bend down to push her. That is extremely handy because she is about an inch too short to reach the pedals all the way anyway. We surprised her with it right when she woke up. She was really excited for about 2 minutes and overall I'd say she's still warming up to the whole idea. Whenever we put her on it she doesn't want to put down whatever she's holding at the time (which is always something) so it's always a struggle. Hopefully she'll enjoy it more soon.

BBQ Season
Summer is here! Or at least BBQ season is. We have had a couple BBQ's each weekend for the last couple weeks and it's been great. There is nothing better than eating grilled food outside on a sunny day! Addy agrees, she loves BBQ's, which makes sense because they are parties focused around food! Here are some pics of a BBQ yesterday where Addy got to see her friend Allia and play with her toys.

Hiking
Last weekend the weather turned out to be better than expected so we took advantage and got out for our first hike of the season. It was great! Addy was a real champ in the carrier, as was Brian carrying her the whole time. We certainly can't go as far as we used to but it was still great to get outside and get some exercise. Hopefully it will be the first of many more and Addy will continue to enjoy her time in the carrier.

Food!
- Blueberries
- Bananas
- Yogurt
- Raisins
- Cereal
- English muffin
- Orange
- Mashed Potatoes
- Bread
- Corn
- Carrots
- Crackers
- Cheese
- Soup
- Broccoli
- Avocado
- Turkey
No, these are not all of the foods Adelyn has tried, this is everything she ate today. It's amazing. I know we are very lucky as many parents struggle just to get their kids to eat anything, but we are on the other extreme. I would say that Addy is semi-obsessed with food. Before she even finishes the food on her plate she is already asking for more. If you give her more of one of her favorite foods (which is pretty much everything) the look on her face is of such pure joy it's hard to resist. The child just loves food. People think we are crazy because we still don't give her any sweets or dessert, but I swear everyone would do the same if they saw how she reacts to food. If she can get this excited over bananas and pasta, I have no idea what she would do with ice cream and cookies. Soon enough she'll get her taste of them and then there will be no turning back.
