Flowers

Last Sunday we braved the weather and headed to the tulip fields for our annual tradition. I was very skeptical but it turned out pretty good, all things considered. We survived 2 full-body blowouts from Cameron and just missed the down pour. It was a test for our parenting skills and we passed!! As usual it was amazing to see so many beautiful flowers.

A Tradition

We have officially established a tradition with Brian's mom. I think every time we've seen her now she has given Addy a hair cut. This time a couple weeks before they came Addy said, "Grandma Wendy will be here soon and she can cut my hair because it's getting long!"
So, of course we had to have another hair cut. Addy just loves it and sits so very nice and still during it and always exclaims afterwards, "now my hair is beautiful!"

Morning at the Museum

While Brian's parents were visiting we also went to the Children Museum which has become one of our favorites. It is huge and Addy just loves it. We can't wait for when Cameron can really enjoy it as well, for now he just loves watching Addy play but did get to enjoy some books read by Grandma.

Grandma & Grandpa

We were lucky to have Brian's parents visit us for a few days and just as lucky that we weren't completely rained out. We had so much fun and the kids were great, it was so fun to watch Addy interact with them. She's starting to understand family relationships now so she thought it was very cool that Daddy's mommy and daddy were visiting us.

4 months

Cameron turned four months on Saturday. We can't believe how much he's changed in the past month. I swear he gets bigger every day! He now giggles regularly, especially when he sees his big sister Addy. On Sunday he surprised us all by rolling over for the first time. He did it several times so we all got to witness it. He remains my happy little baby. He loves listening to books and songs and now has started "singing" on his own all of the time. He had his check up today and is 16 pounds 5 oz's (75%) and 26 inches (80%).

Babies & Moms

Last week was my final official mom's group meeting and it was fun to get all of the babies lined up again. It's hard to believe how much they've all grown in 12 weeks. I really enjoyed this group and getting to know the other moms and babies. Hopefully we will still be able to get together regularly. It was so fun and the babies were all so good.

A Work of Art

Last weekend Brian and I finally got around to hanging something I bought over 2 years ago to hang Addy's art from. It was ridiculously complicated for how easy it should have been, but it's finally up and we have plenty of space to display Addy's works of art. It was perfect timing because we realized we hadn't checked her art folder at school in months so now we have all of it on display. So impressive!

Two Times Two

On Saturday I offered to watch my friend's kids for the evening in exchange for her watching Addy and Cameron some night. I joke that she and I are living parallel lives because we both work for the same company, we live near each other, we each have 2 kids and our boys are only 3 weeks apart. Brian also came over for a few hours so we had all 4 kids together. Everyone was really good and it was fun to see them all together, but I truly don't know how parents can survive once they are outnumbered. It's a good thing I never ended up with multiples because I don't know how I would manage. It was tiring for just a few hours even with an extra parent and all of the kids were very well-behaved. These experiences are always a good reminder for me that no matter how many challenging moments I may have, it could always be harder!

Ahhh, Three-Year-Olds

The other day Addy was climbing on a chair and then jumping off and as she climbed up the chair, I warned her to be careful because the chair could tip over, Addy insisted the chair couldn't tip over so I said, "Addy, just trust me, it could tip over." And then without missing a beat she said to me, "Mommy, trust me, it won't."

To Dad, Love QB

When we were considering names for Cameron, it was actually Brian who came up with the name Cameron. We both wanted something that could be shortened and Brian kept saying that Cam sounded like a quarterback's name. I agreed and I couldn't think of anything else I liked, so Cameron it was. When he got this shirt as a gift I had to laugh, it was destined to be one of Brian's favorites.

I also have to update that during my first two weeks back at work, Brian worked a modified schedule so he could be home with Cameron before he officially started daycare. It was the best transition process ever! Cameron mastered the bottle, bonded with Brian and has since transitioned wonderfully into daycare. It was so great to see Cameron and Brian bond and now they are both so much more comfortable with each other. It made the transition so much easier for me as well and I'm so lucky to have these two boys in my life!

Happy Easter!

It was a picture perfect Easter. It was almost 75 degrees and sunny. Addy woke up to find easter eggs all over the house. Then we had an egg cracking contest over breakfast with the eggs we dyed the day before. After church we headed over to Rob and Kim's house for a delicious Easter lunch. As always the food was delicious and Addy & Cameron were spoiled with tons of presents. After eating we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine while Addy found more eggs. She couldn't have been happier. She got some amazing colored hair bows in her eggs and loved showing them off and even shared them with me. She made it very clear that Daddy and Cameron were not allowed to wear the hair things, that would be just plain silly.
It was just one of those days that was so fun I wish we could do it over and over again.
