California Sun...sort of

So last weekend we headed down to San Diego for a little mid-winter break from the rain to see our friends Erin & Jason and their daughter Baylee. Unfortunately, the rain decided to follow us and it rained most of the time we were there. Oh well, we still had a great time, even if we had to modify the plans a little.
Addy loved Baylee's awesome play room & toys, and the girls loved eating together (yes that is a pool and hot tub out their window) and we braved the clouds for a walk and then got rained on but at least we got to see an awesome rainbow.

It was nice for a few hours on Sunday when we went to the aquarium. The girls loved seeing all of the fish, we got outside for some sun, the fathers helped them with a boat race and saved the girls from the shark. It was a fabulous day!

Sick and Tired

Turns out Addy's fever wasn't teething related like we had thought (although she was drooling more than we've ever seen before). We took her to the Dr. on Thursday and she confirmed Addy has an ear infection. So it's back on the amoxicillin we go. Luckily she has been sleeping like champ at night and for her naps so I'm hoping she's on the mend. Unfortunately now I've caught something as well and feel awful. This house is pretty sick and tired of being sick and tired. Hopefully next week is better.

Working Girl

Our poor little girl has had a rough week. She started to get a terrible fever on Monday and it was just so sad to see her. On Tuesday she stayed home and Brian and I split the day each getting into work for a few hours. On Wednesday we thought she was better (no fever in the morning) but daycare called shortly after to say her fever came back. Unfortunately both Brian and I had things that had to get done at work so we had to get creative. He left to go get her and then brought her to my work so I could finish up a few things before heading home with her. She did great at the office, I think she's a natural working girl. Here are a few pics from our adventure (sorry the quality is so terrible).

Uh-oh

Addy's new word of the week is "uh-oh" and just like she did with "hi" she wakes up in the morning practicing it. It is seriously hilarious to hear her in the morning talking to herself in the crib saying "uh-oh, uh-uh-oh, uh-oh-oh." She says it all the time and it's so funny because it's always appropriate with whatever she's doing. She drops her spoon "uh-oh", she knocks over her milk "uh-oh", she drops Daddy's phone "uh-uh-oh". I even heard her the other night saying it over and over as she fell asleep. It is adorable!

Happy Valentine's Day

Yesterday Addy and I went to a mom and baby Valentine's party with my mom's group. It was great to see everyone, it had been a long time since I'd seen this group. 6 of the 8 moms and babies made it so it was fun to compare all the kiddos again (although because of nap schedules we couldn't get a photo with all six). We made Valentine's cards and enjoyed some delicious treats. Addy had fun playing with a whole new set of toys and practiced her sharing skills. She also worked on her stealing skills. When we left and got to the car, I noticed she had one of Lucy's books in her hands so we had to go back and return it.

Bowl Me Over

Yesterday, we met up with a group of people at a bowling alley for our friend Kris's birthday. We haven't been bowling in years and it was a lot of fun. Addy was pretty shy at first and wouldn't venture off our laps, but by the end we were having to chase her all over the place. She had a great time at the alley and had lots of fun playing with all the kids afterward. I also had the pleasure of the highest score for the first game, but most importantly I beat Brian, which was the highlight of my night.

Step Up

Today we got a big box in the mail and it was the step that Brian ordered for Addy. It was a huge hit. She was dancing around the box until we opened it and then immediately started to climb on it. We brought it to the bathroom and it worked like a charm! Now Addy can reach the sink to wash her hands. No more back aches for Mom and Dad. Then we set it by the couch and she proceeded to climb up and down over and over. Another great purchase, thank you Amazon!
