A Day on the Lake
Friday was the best day for weather so we went over to my sister and Brian's cabin to spend the day on the lake. To say the kids had a blast would be an understatement. We went tubing, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and Addy even tried water-skiing (sort of). I was so proud of my kids and how comfortable they were in the water. It was also awesome to see Addy and Izzy spend the entire day together. Izzy even got up on the actual water skis for the first time! It was a perfect laid back day on the water.

Grandma Ruby
For the second leg of our trip we stayed with my Dad and Kathy at their cabin. The first day was still a bit cold and rainy so we all went to visit my Grandma Ruby. She is 97 and still living at her house and when we arrived she even had cookies ready to put in the oven for us! She also has a basket of toys that she lets the kids choose from and lucky (or not) for us Cameron choose a singing dog (the one from Taco Bell) that sings the same song over and over and over again. It provided us the soundtrack for the next few days. My sister and her kids met us there as well and then we stopped at an old-fashioned drive in restaurant on the way home. It was great food but since it was cold and rainy we were all huddled together eating as fast as possible. Not the best weather for our first cabin day but we made the most of it.
Swimming in the Rain
We decided to make a pit stop on our drive from Brian's parents before going to see my family. We went to see my friend Megan at her parent's house since they have a big pool in their backyard. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperative because it was raining and cold, but luckily Rich and Sharon keep the pool at almost 90 degrees so it was fine. Megan and I stayed inside with baby Jack, but the other kids all had a blast with their dads in the pool. It was a nice field trip and helped the kids sleep on the rest of the drive as we drove through pouring rain all the way to see my family.

Other Fun
The last of the pics from our time at Grandma and Grandpa's. The kids relaxing on the porch, story time with Great Grandma, running through the sprinkler, mani/pedi time, and pictures from the nature center field trip!

Picture Time
As usual we tried to take as many family pics as possible while the kids were with all of their relatives. We got a lot of good ones and it still amazes me how much Brian looks like the rest of his family. It's funny how the older they get the more Brian and Dennis look like each other, it certainly helps that they've both adopted the same hairstyle. Brian will forever be jealous Cameron's head of hair.

Game Changer
While in Holmen we also got to see Heather, Andrew, Dennis and Great Grandma and Grandpa. The kids had a great time playing with everyone and learned a new game from each person. Andrew taught them how to play a game with penguins called "Hey, that's my Fish", Great Grandma brought the original Hi-Ho Cherry-o game (only 3 cherries missing 55 years later!) Heather showed them a building game from Yoxo and Dennis taught Addy how to play chess. Addy in return taught Grandma and Grandpa how to play the card game garbage. It was a game changing kind of weekend.

Hot & Humid
The first few days we were at Brian's parents it was super hot and humid. I had honestly forgotten just how hot it feels when it's over 90% humidity and over 90 degrees, but I quickly remembered! We had a blast though. It was "Korn Fest" in Holmen so we got to go to a parade and to the local carnival. The kids loved it and got a ton of candy from the parade that they proceeded to organize and play with for the next several days. We also got to eat yummy corn on the cob and fried cheese curds at the carnival. We watched the fireworks but Cameron did not enjoy them because of the noise so he and I left early. Once we got in the car though he loved them.
