The kids had fun at the game, mainly because of the peanuts, popcorn, pretzels and ice cream! We also discovered a cool kids area where they got to throw balls, do races and swing bats. It was a perfect day to enjoy a game and the Mariner's won so that made it extra fun. It was our first baseball game as a family and the kids already want to do when we get to do it again.

Go Mariners!
We celebrated Memorial Day by taking the kids to the Mariner's game. It was Cameron's first game and he was so excited. We went downtown and had a picnic on the rooftop deck at my work. The weather was perfect! Then we walked to the stadium and the kids played in the kids zone and got certificates for their first game (we didn't know about this when Addy did her first game!)

Family Day
Cameron had Family Day for his gymnastics class that he takes at school. The kids got to show off their skills like stretching, walking on the balance beam and balancing a bean bag all over their body. Brian said that Cameron was very proud to show off his skills and was also acting goofy to try and make everyone laugh. He has had so much fun with Miss Kelsey and her classes.

You Can? You Can!
Cameron is at an age where I can't even keep up with what he can do because it feels like every day he learns something new. I feel like we've been so focused on what he can do physically I haven't really been paying as much attention to his learning skills (shhh...don't tell anyone). Last week he gave me an important reminder. Adelyn was practicing some spelling words and Cameron said he could spell his name. I knew he could do C-A-M but didn't think he knew the rest. Sure enough he spelled it out fast as could be, all correct.
Then we were working on birthday cards and he said he wanted to sign his name. Usually it's just scratches but he proceeded to write out his name (I swear I didn't help) and I couldn't believe it! Sydney- you better keep this work of art!

This week were Cameron's parent teacher conferences and his teacher said that Cameron is consistently performing 6-8 months ahead of his age. She said he is a great student and a very good friend to his classmates. She included a sheet of paper where Cameron wrote his name and yet again I was stunned at how well he could write his name, below is his latest work. And of course we never will know if it's true or not but his teacher said she was so excited to have Cameron in her class and even though she is not supposed to have favorites, she does and his name is C-A-M-E-R-O-N.

T-ball Farewell
Last week was Adelyn's last T-ball game. It was a great game (despite the cold) and we had a team potluck celebration afterwards. All of the kids got medals and gifts and had a great time celebrating their awesome season. It is hard to believe how much better they got from when they started and didn't even know what direction to run. By the end of the season they were hitting off pitches from the coach!
Addy could have signed up for another season in the summer but she decided she wanted to give dance another chance instead. We'll have to make due with playing in the backyard until next season starts. We did get her official pics which are just awesome.

Summer Days...in Spring
We have had the most amazing spring weather, which makes me a little nervous for how hot summer might be. We've had several days in the 80's and its been wonderfully sunny. All of this is good news for our garden. The kids are excited about the veggies and especially love seeing how quickly the peas have been coming up. Whenever the kids are outside for more than a few minutes and it's sunny, the shirts always come off! I'm pretty sure by the time summer hits they will be naked in the backyard everyday!

Street Cred
This afternoon Cameron and Addy were headed out to the cul-de-sac to do some bike riding, but some of the neighborhood boys were playing baseball. There were 5 boys, probably 11 or 12 years old, who stopped playing as Addy and Cameron rode through. Cameron happened to be wearing his superman pajama shirt and cape and when he got up and riding on the bike all of the boys stopped and watched. A few of them said, "go superman!" and I heard them say, "he's riding a real bike." Then one of the boys asked me how old Cameron was and when I said three he said, "wow, I can't believe he's riding a bike at three, I didn't learn until I was at least 5. Good job Superman!" Words cannot describe the swagger Cameron had while riding his bike past these boys. He was grinning ear to ear and he just knew they were watching him. We got to the end of the street and Cameron said to me, "those boys were so impressed with my biking." Cameron definitely has some street cred in the neighborhood.

Surprise- Pictures!
I mentioned before that Cameron's picture day at school got rescheduled several times. Of course it would happen that when they finally rescheduled it, we weren't told so it was a surprise picture day for us. Not his best pictures to date, but as always they make me smile.
