The morning laziness sparked extra energy in me because suddenly I wanted to organize and purge. Brian knows this isn't an urge that strikes me often, so he took advantage and took the kids to the zoo so I could tackle my "stuff." I went through the hallway closet, the kitchen storage bench, my closet, the office desk and the bins under my bed. Five bags to goodwill later I felt like a new woman. The kids had an awesome time at the zoo, and we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening together. Cameron mastered starting his bike on his own, and Adelyn learned how to ride standing up. It was an awesome day, and I was overwhelmed by just how incredibly lucky I am to have such wonderful kids and an incredible husband.
Mother's Day is always bittersweet for me since I am not able to share it with my mom and it is especially hard because I feel like you appreciate your mother in a completely new way once you are a mother. I never got to tell my mom just how truly grateful I was for everything she did for me. I am always thinking of her, and especially on mother's day, hoping she knows how much I love her and miss her and appreciate all that she did for me. I wish that I could share my kids with her, that they could meet her and that she could see me as a mother. I know she is watching over us and I hope she can feel the love we have for her not just on Mother's day, but every day.
