Lights!

We figured it out! The Christmas tradition that Addy loves most is Christmas lights! We took her to a light display and she absolutely loved it, so we also drove around and looked at Christmas lights in our neighborhood and she couldn't get enough. She was literally giddy with anticipation as we drove down the street. I couldn't be prouder! I told Brian he has no choice but to hang more Christmas lights next year.

Lego-palooza

While in Portland we decided to head to the Children's Museum because it was too cold to really do anything outside. I think the boys were actually more excited than Addy when they found out there was a special lego exhibit. It was pretty impressive, tons of castles built out of legos. I think if I had let him, Brian would have stayed there all day. But there were way too many other cool things to see as well and Addy loved it. Her favorite was the area that was set up like a real grocery store filled with products. She loved putting the items in the cart and then bringing them to the checkout, just like she does with me.

Doggy Toys

Last weekend we headed out of town and went to see our friends James & Keri in Portland. Aside from forgetting the camera for most of the things we did (oops) we had a wonderful time! It was awesome to just relax and hang out and Addy was more than entertained by their pug, Otis. She must have gotten him his doggy toys a hundred times. She was obsessed with them and frankly he couldn't have cared less. He was the perfect dog for her to bother because he didn't really care and she really got comfortable around him. She talked about him every day this week and wanted to make sure he had his doggy toys.

Are we having fun yet?

I love this time of year. Really, truly, love the holiday season. I've really been thinking hard about traditions we can start now so Addy can grow up to love this time of year as well. Last weekend we drove to the mountains to go tubing at one of the ski resorts. I heard someone else talking about taking their 2-year-old there and how much she loved it so I thought it might be fun for Addy. Not so much. She was pretty scared of the hills and just kept saying "cooooold, too cold." We gave it a try several times but she really wasn't into it. Maybe next year.
Then on Sunday I thought it would be fun to take her downtown to see all of the decorations, trees and holiday stuff. We went to this hotel that has a "teddy bear suite" which is one of their rooms completely decorated in Christmas stuff and tons of teddy bears. I thought for sure Addy would love it. Again, not so much. She would hardly even look at the teddy bears, refused to touch them and was really only interested in the small table of books that they had in the room. Of course.
The real tragedy for me was later that day when I went to turn on the Christmas music at home. Addy said "no Christmas music!" What? What is wrong with her? Seriously, how can she not love Christmas music? Ok I admit I've been playing it every day since November 1st so maybe she's had her fill but that is what this time of year is for. I just pray it's not too late for her.

Football

The other night Brian wanted to watch a football game but didn't think it was on TV so he was watching it on the computer. He's trained Addy so well to be into football that she wanted to watch it too. This was them in action watching football on the computer. It's both adorable and lame at the same time.

Fancy

A few weeks ago I got Addy some fancy silver shoes. I wasn't expecting her to like them because she hasn't been a big fan of dress shoes in the past, but she loves these! She wants to wear them all the time. She just doesn't love the tights that I like to put her in when I want her to wear these shoes. The other day I was putting her in tights and she said "no tights Mama, no look pretty."

Who are you calling bald?

Yes, it's true I still refer to Addy as bald, so these are actually for me to realize that my daughter technically does have hair. We still have a long ways to go, but yes, it's there!
