Where's Grandma?

This morning the first thing out of Cameron's mouth was "Where's Grandma?"

When we looked through a dinosaur book with a map, both kids pointed correctly to where Grandma lives. 

Tonight as we were reading books before bed he said, "I miss Grandma."

We miss you Grandma, but as Addy stated, "I don't miss her too much since she'll be back next week...with Grandpa!"

A Week with Wendy

The kids had an awesome time with Grandma Wendy while I was gone (in New Costco as Cameron called it, he preferred that to New Mexico). They got to show her all of their favorite things, (which was literally everything they own) go for walks and play outside. Grandma got to escape the frigid temps so it was a win-win for everyone, except for the cold that Addy got and then gave to Grandma and to Cameron too. Brian and I are hoping to stay clear of this one.
Here are just a few pics of Grandma with her kiddos (books, play doh, tea parties & camping were just some of the highlights), everyone was sad to see her go, but the best news is that she's back in two weeks with Grandpa Scott!

Biker Babe

Brian has been working with Addy on her scooter and bike skills for awhile now. Well this weekend everything came together like never before (I think having Grandma in town was the key!) Addy was showing off on her scooter and finally figured out how to use the brake. She looks like a real pro. Then we convinced her to ride her bike and she did it the best she ever has. She's not 100% independent yet but she is so close and she keeps getting better and better each time. It was so much fun to see her practice and to be so confident in her new skills.

G.W. in the house

We are so lucky to have Grandma Wendy with us all week! She came to give us an extra hand since school is closed tomorrow and then I'm traveling the rest of the week for work. I don't know who is more excited, Brian and I, or the kids! Brian even had to go into work today unexpectedly so it was especially nice to have her here! The sun came out to welcome her, it was about 50 degrees warmer here than in Wisconsin and it's not supposed to rain all week.
Grandma started the morning making awesome pancake faces which the kids just loved. She came bearing gifts for the kids and Addy wasted no time putting together the snowman lego set and then showed Grandma her other lego sets. The fun never stops when Grandma's in town!

A Night with the Days

Last weekend we had our friends the Days over and Addy got to hang out with her friend Luella. We realized it was kind of a play date for Cameron too since the twins are close to his age. 5 kids 5 and under, it was a blast! The kids were great and their favorite part was when we made ice cream, but not the first batch which I forgot to add vanilla too. Luella said it best "this tastes like butter" luckily a little vanilla fixed everything! It was a super fun night until it was time to go and there were several different tantrums going on at the same time. No one wanted the good times to end, or maybe just not the ice cream.

12th man in mourning

I think I'm finally ready to talk about it. It's been a week, the pain has died down and we have come to terms with the truth, we lost the Superbowl. I won't go into any more than that, and I only bring it up because it seems like a shame to not share the adorable pictures of the kids. We watched the game at our friends house along with a bunch of "superfans." Adelyn does not care for the yelling and screaming or really even the football (but she loves the "accessorizing"), but it's clear that Cameron loves it. He was right in there with everyone yelling and screaming at every play and loving every minute of it. He has all of the signs of a 12th man fan in the making, and when the game was over he just kept saying, "We lost. That's sad." Well said my man.

My last post I commented that Adelyn was bordering on ridiculous for her loss of teeth. I think it's safe to say we've crossed that border and are officially in the ridiculous zone! On Saturday we were at Trader Joe's in the cereal aisle and Addy had just picked out some cereal. She stuck in her hand in her mouth and the next thing I know she hands me her tooth. It literally fell out at the grocery store. So now she's lost her 6th tooth. She's becoming such a pro at this that the next morning she didn't even bother checking to see if the tooth fairy came. When I asked her about it she just shrugged her shoulders and said nonchalantly, "I just forgot, I'll check after I eat my breakfast."

Apparently after 5 previous visits, the tooth fairy loses her charm.

And no I don't know why Addy insists on looking like a crazy person when I ask to take a picture of her teeth.
