Beach Cabin Fun

The pictures can't even do justice to what a perfect weekend it was. Here were some highlights:
- Fun on the beach finding shells, sand dollars and crabs.
- Brian in the boat with Cameron and Addy, but Cameron did not enjoy it and preferred to watch from the deck.
- Fresh oysters from the neighbors, we couldn't open them so we grilled them instead. Cameron tried his first one and loved it.
- Hanging out with Kris, Sarah and Lilja.
- The kids having fun on the air mattress while it deflated.
Thanks to Chuck and Robin for a wonderful weekend!

Whew!

What a week it's been! On Monday I was off to New Mexico for work for the week. Brian had to do double duty because Addy was also doing VBS through church. Luckily we were able to share drop off and pick up with some friends and Addy had an awesome time with her friend Lizzy. She learned new songs and dances and Brian took both kids to the family dinner night. Then we all headed down to see Chuck and Robin at the beach house for the weekend and Brian & the kids dropped me off at work this morning. It was busy but everything worked out great!

Gymnastics

Cameron started a gymnastics class when Grandma was here so she was able to join him. The class is just for 2 year olds and I was happy to see that Cameron was not the biggest kid there! But he definitely was the fastest. There was an obstacle course set up and each kid had to take turns going through it. Well Cameron was so fast he just kept passing the other kids and he must have gone through it at least twice as many times. He loved the rope swing and did a great job doing somersaults.

New School (location)!

This week the kids started daycare back up again at their new school (same daycare, new location). Last week they had to say goodbye to their old classrooms which were almost completely empty by the last few days. They loved running through the empty rooms but were excited to be able to play with all of their stuff again.
The new school location is fantastic! It's still close to our house and has a soccer field, play structures, sandbox and believe it or not air conditioning! They love their new classrooms and are excited about exploring a new place. We feel so blessed to have found this school and these teachers.

Ice Cream for Breakfast

Cameron's potty training continues to go extremely well, proven by the almost empty container of jelly beans. We told him that if he went poop on the potty he could get ice cream. Well on Saturday he told me he had to go poop and wanted to go on the potty. Sure enough he did so I had to fulfill my end of the deal. Ice cream right after breakfast it was! It must have worked because he did it again in the afternoon. What a big boy!

Happy 4th of July

We ended up having an unexpected "stay-cation" over the 4th since our trip to Winthrop to see Chuck and Robin was canceled because of temperatures exceeding 100 degrees! We were sad to miss the tradition but not sad to pass on the heat. We ended up having an awesome time at home and managed to stay cool. Our adventures included, swimming at Yost Pool, having friends over for a BBQ, going to the Edmonds Parade, running through the sprinkler, seeing fireworks, going to the beach, and eating lots of delicious summertime foods! It really was a relaxing weekend.

Totally Dry Day!

It was Grandma's last full day and in the morning before I went to work Cameron used the potty. As I was leaving I told him maybe he could use the potty every time he needed to go and maybe he could get as many as 5 jelly beans! Well, when I got home he was going for the 6th time and he even went one more time before bed. 7 times going on the potty and 7 jelly beans! He didn't have one wet diaper all day. Even more amazing is that Grandma took them to the beach and he said he had to go there, but waited until they got home. He also told Grandma that he had to pee, but first she had to change his poopy diaper. Sure enough right after she changed him he went pee on the potty!

Then today Cameron woke up and again wanted to use the potty. After breakfast he insisted on wearing underwear to school. I was nervous but went for it. When we got to school he asked to use the potty again and went (in a urinal no less!) The teachers confirmed he had no accidents and used the potty several times. They put a diaper on him for nap but other than that he wore underwear all day. I can't believe it!
