Last weekend was National Free Museum day so Brian and the kids headed to the Museum of Flight. I had a work event so I was devastated that I couldn't join (insert sarcasm). They had the best time! I'm always amazed at how much time they can spend at a museum (and again relieved when I'm not at the museum). They could not stop talking about what they saw and had tons of questions. They really wanted to know if Brian or I ever flew on the concord and Addy was especially confused as to why they would name an airplane after a type of grape. They loved being able to walk into the planes and Cameron really wants to fly on a double decker plane. They already were talking about what they wanted to see on their next trip to the museum.

Recovering
The month started with some sniffles from Cameron. He insisted he wasn't sick but his nose was never not runny. Then it moved over to Adelyn who at least admitted she had a cold, but it didn't really slow her down. It waited a week to hit me and I think it was just building up power. It took me down! I was home for 2 days (which never happens!) and am going on day 7 and still don't feel great. It hit Brian midway through and wasn't as bad as mine (he insists its because he's so much tougher). So it was a rainy weekend and we took it easy and recovered. I am hoping that this means our winter sickness came early and we're good for the season!

Party!
My company had their annual summer party the other week and it was super fun. The kids had a blast, especially because there was face painting! They just loved it. Cameron literally could not stop smiling from the minute he got his face painted. Luckily Brian clued me in that he was a Star Wars character. It took FOREVER to get all of that off and Camerons still smiled through the entire thing.

Hiking
I really want to get more hiking in as a family so last weekend we returned to the ice caves. It is such a beautiful hike and this day was no exception. The kids were great and it always feels good to get outside. Hopefully we will be doing more of that, especially now that the kids can go so much further without complaining (or at least with less complaining).

Summer Sports Season
Addy was busy this summer with both volleyball and gymnastics and now with school starting both are done. I can't believe how much she improved in both. Especially volleyball since she had never really played it before. She was really good at the end and always got her serves over and could return balls to the other side. It was fun to see how much the team improved.
I also can't believe how tall my girl is getting! I swear it won't be long before she is taller than me. So proud of this girl for trying new things and working so hard in everything she does.

First Day of School
The kids started school this week on Wednesday! I can't believe where summer went and I can't believe we have a 1st grader and a 4th grader. I look at them and am amazed at how quickly they have grown up. The pictures on the bottom popped up on my photos- it is Addy's first day of 1st grade and Cameron starting preschool. Unbelievable!
The neighborhood kids at the end of the first day of school. We love this town!

Fair Day
On the last week before school, Brian and the kids went to the fair with another family (sadly I was at work). Although when I heard that they spent more than 10 hours at the fair, I was actually ok that I missed it. They certainly made the most of it. Now that the kids are older they spent most of the time on the bigger rides which they all loved. But they still checked out the animal section and took a photo of my favorites- the baby piglets!
