Birthday #1

Cameron got to celebrate his 10th birthday multiple times this year since we had both sets of grandparents visit the weeks leading up to his birthday. First were Papa and Kathy and Cameron enjoyed opening his new nerf gun. We had a ton of fun with them and went on a "Christmas Ship" cruise on Lake Washington. It was a fun way to welcome in the holiday season. We had our traditional crab dinner, Addy put on a very memorable concert and we taught them how to bowl and play tennis on the Nintendo. 

Safari Park

On Black Friday instead of braving the retail stores, we braved the Safari park and saw elephants, rhinos, giraffes and gorillas. It was an awesome place to see tons of animals and we saw the only 2 platypus outside of Australia. It was really cool to walk with the wallabies and to take the tram through the safari park. 

It's Always Sunny in San Diego

We had our 2nd annual Thanksgiving with the Mrozek's and this year it was our turn to travel to San Diego. The weather could not have been better and it was perfect weather every day. We headed straight to the beach upon landing and saw Hotel Del Coronado. We've never seen an outdoor ice rink on the beach! We enjoyed a relaxing Thanksgiving day with the yummiest food that we enjoyed for days to come. The kids couldn't quite adjust to "holiday" weather being so warm and sunny. 

She's a teenager!

I'm wildly behind on posts and I'm gonna blame it on officially having a teenage daughter! Hard to believe how quickly Addy has grown up. She had a great 13th birthday hanging out with 2 of her good friends. They went shopping in Edmonds and watched a movie and had endless sugary snacks. It was a super fun day and Addy is enjoying being a teenager so far. 

Release the Kraken

The weekend Cameron had his camping with the Scouts happened to be the season opener for the Kraken so Addy and I got to go to the game. It happened to be the same night as the Mariner's marathon playoff game. Since it was the season opener there was a lot of hype for the game and Addy and I got our faces painted. Since neither Addy or I are big hockey fans, I think its safe to say that we had more fun getting free stuff and looking at the merchandise than watching the game itself. My favorite was toward the end of the second period when we were both getting a bit bored and Addy said "Mom, we should have brought our books to read!" Something tells me we might have made it on the jumbotron if we were caught reading at the season opener 😂 

Fall Camping

The rain has finally returned! After months of above average temperatures and ZERO rain, our fall weather has returned and the smoke is gone. One of the silver linings of the warm weather was that the kids camping trips with scouts were NOT in the rain (but they did have some smoke). Addy had 2 weekends away with Girl Scouts and Cameron spent a day with Brian at a camp. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of Addy with her troop but she had a great time and she's basically an expert at Girl Scout camping at this point. Cameron's favorite part? Two weekends with no big sister at home! 

The Room Where it Happened

Addy and I have been excited for months about going to see Hamilton. I think I bought the tickets 9 months ago so when the day finally came we couldn't wait. We made it into a mom and daughter date in Seattle and did lunch and shopping before the show. It was such a fun day and we had the best time. The show was incredible, the performers were amazing and as usual a live musical performance filled my cup with joy! I love that Addy enjoys it as much as I do and I can't wait to take the kids to more shows.
