I've Missed you Internet!

3-2-1-contact! Oh to have internet again. I apologize for the break, the last couple of weeks have been even more hectic than expected. We have been non-stop all month, but I'm happy to report that things keep getting better every day. One huge unexpected challenge was the lack of internet for the last couple of weeks. Long story short, there is a problem with our line and we still don't have internet. Thankfully our neighbors are graciously allowing us to steal their connection until our situation is fixed, which we still have no timeframe for. Who knew life without internet could be so challenging? I fully acknowledge that if not having internet is our biggest challenge then things are really pretty good, but still (not having a washer and dryer hasn't been my favorite either).
Anyway, we've survived the move, Addy is in love with her new house, is still adjusting to her new school and absolutely loves having a backyard to play in and yardwork to "help" Daddy with. More to come soon!

A Little Busy

Just a note to say things are a little busy right now. We are in the middle of a million things, the biggest of which involves moving! We are super excited about everything and I promise lots of updates pretty soon, but I will most likely not be updating for awhile as we are in the midst of chaos. I keep telling myself things will settle down in a few months and then I remember I'm pregnant and will have a newborn before the end of the year. I think we could safely say this will be the busiest year we've ever had! Stay tuned...

AND Joe and Amy

We currently have our friends, Joe and Amy, in town visiting us. Joe and Brian have known each other since college and it's frightening how similar they are. It's been really fun having them and Addy absolutely loves it. She is constantly showing off to them and they are so great with her. They left for a couple days to do a mini-trip during their stay and Addy can't stop talking about them. Everything is "yes, and Joe and Amy too." She got to enjoy a crab dinner with them and of course had to show off her princess dress. 

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep...

Brian and I have been holding off for awhile now on transitioning Addy out of the crib. I will be honest, I still love the fact that when I want her to go to bed I can put her in her crib and leave the room. and know that she can't get out (I know she could but she's never tried!) But, I realize it can't be like that forever so last night Brian lowered her crib and the side rail so now she can get in and out by herself. She was so incredibly proud of herself, she must have gotten in and out of her "big girl bed" at least 20 times before bed. It was pretty cute. But the actual staying in bed part was not so easy. She tried every trick in the book and pushed her bedtime way later than normal. Just when Brian and I thought she was finally down, we heard footsteps come down the stairs and there she was looking incredibly proud of herself. She finally went to bed and we were hoping this meant she wouldn't get up at her new favorite time of 5:50, but sure enough the next morning I heard her talking at 5:51. Brian called to her to remind her that she could get out herself and then she came into our room. We naively thought she might crawl into bed and cuddle with us, of course that did not happen. Tonight she went down much better, fingers crossed she sleeps in a little later.

It's A....

We found out this week what we are having and it's a BOY! We are so excited to have one of each. It's good that we have several months to get Addy used to the idea. When we told her she was having a baby brother she said she wasn't excited because she wanted a sister. But she's starting to talk more and more about her baby brother already, and she talks to him and gives my belly kisses. Unfortunately she also wants to name him Princess...

Guess what?

I think most everyone knows by now, but I realized I haven't formally announced our big news on the blog yet. It's always a weird thing to announce so I thought I would let a picture say it all. Yes, someone is expecting...we find out next week if it's a boy or a girl!!

Like Mommy, Like Daddy

The other day I was getting ready to for work and I put on a green dress. Addy saw it and said "I want to wear a matching dress" Funny enough, she has a green summer dress. So she put it on (along with a white sweater just like mama!) and then said "there Mama now we can go dancing with our dresses."
She also is obsessed with copying what Daddy does. Usually when he puts on his glasses she puts on her glasses, but this time she decided that only Daddy's glasses would do. Here is evidence of our "mini me."
