Over Labor Day weekend we decided to take the kids to the zoo since Cameron had never been. He (we) all had a great time! Our favorite was watching the river otters play in the water, but it was also cool to see the giraffes, elephants and penguins. Brian took the kids into an area where the birds fly all around you and will even land on you, I politely declined and stayed far away.
We struggled getting good pictures by the real animals (its a bear on the rock below) so we decided the status of animals would be easier...it was but only slightly.
