States 8 and 9

We are back from our trip! We had a great time, and Addy added 2 more states to her list by going to Colorado and Wyoming.  She was so great on the trip, and we had so much fun with her. We did a million things, and I'll write in more detail later.  Here were some of the highlights for Addy.
- Met 14 new relatives on the Evert side, including her Great Grandma and Grandpa
- Counted cows, horses and antelope on the drive through Wyoming
- Got a hair cut from Gramma Wendy
- Went on a wagon ride
- Met "Tomas" the Train
- Saw alligators, dinosaurs and Daffy Duck
- Pet 2 kitties and a dog
- Fell asleep every night in the big bed
- Ate ice cream, twice!
- Flew on the plane both ways like a big girl with no crying!

Dancing Queen

Addy was watching me get dressed one morning and as I put on a dress she said, "ohh I like your dress mama. Now you can go dancing."
I think Addy thinks that dancing can only take place if you are wearing a dress because if a song comes on and I tell her to dance, she usually says, "I can't dance, I'm not wearing my dress" and then she'll insist on putting on her tutu.

Yesterday she shook things up and put on her bee costume in order to do some dancing. Today it was back to the pink tutu.

A Crown for the Princess

The other weekend we went to Chuck and Robin's for dinner and they surprised Addy with a crown to go with her new obsession with princesses. She wasn't too sure of it at first, but then did put it on and wore it all the way home, laughing hysterically. The next morning before she even sat up in her crib she said, "I want my crown." She wore it all morning but insisted on taking it off during breakfast because she didn't want to get her crown dirty. This princess takes her title very seriously.

Uncle Dennis & Aunt Carrie

Needless to say the end of April was about as busy as our social calendar gets. Towards the end of Eric's trip, Brian's brother Dennis and his wife Carrie also came out for a visit. We all got together for a fun dinner while Eric was still here and after a great tour of the Pacific Northwest, they spent their last night with us after Addy and I got back from Arizona. It was so great to see them and Addy was loving having so many visitors to play with (especially to dress up as a ballerina for).
They bought her an awesome art set and showed her how to make pictures with the stamps. She loved having them here and I think now understands that she has two aunt Carries!

Addy and Keeg

Before meeting my family in Arizona, Addy and I got together with my friends Kevin and Kerry Ann and their son Keegan. It was great to see them and the kiddos had a lot of fun together. Addy was loving all of his toys. She loved the train set, puzzles, and books, but I think her favorite was watching Keegan play Angry Birds. I swear she didn't blink the entire time he played. The next day she picked up my phone and said "I want to play Angry Birds." I couldn't believe it!
Keegan was pretty funny too, he kept pretending to be a superhero and called Addy, "Abby" or "Maddy." When it was time to go he gave several huge hugs and I think even tried to kiss her!

Airplane to Arizona

The day after Eric left Addy and I hopped on a plane to go to Arizona to see my Dad, sister & niece. It was a few days of Papa and the ladies! It was perfect timing for a little break & some much needed sunshine. The weather was perfect and it was tons of fun. We went swimming, went to a zoo and took lots of trips on the golf cart. Addy loved it and especially couldn't get enough of the pool. She is proving to be a little fish.
I survived traveling by myself with her to and from Arizona. For the most part she was really good, but at one point she did have such a tantrum on the plane that the flight attendant came up to ask me if there was anything she could do! I was so embarrassed, luckily it only lasted a few minutes. I also had to have the flight attendant tell Addy to put her tray table up and her seatbelt on because she refused to listen to me. It totally worked and Addy immediately did what she asked. I'm going to have to remember that for next time!

Uncle Eric

Our friend Eric came to visit us last week and it was awesome. I knew that he and Brian were going to have a blast together, I had no idea Addy would bond with him so quickly. After one day it was no longer comments about "Daddy" it was always "Daddy and Eric." When they would go out she would say "Are Daddy and Eric home yet?" or "Daddy and Eric at baseball?" or "Eric still sleeping?" She loved playing with him, she went on the potty for him (but not for us) and she wanted him to come up and say good night to her (but not us). So cute! They had so much fun together and even after he left she was still asking about him, "Eric downstairs?" or "Eric still sleeping?"

Addy misses Eric, and we do too.
