Spring Fever

It was a beautiful weekend with lots of sun and we made the most of it. We colored some Easter eggs outside and helped pull weeds while Daddy was on the roof! Addy and Cameron opened their Easter presents from Papa and Kathy and loved them. Addy liked showing off in her new "work out outfit" She did some jumping and then some sit-ups and push-ups. Just working out to get ready to find those easter eggs and eat some treats!

Oh Cameron..

Ever since Cameron was born whenever he would start to cry I would say to him, "oh Cameron Diaz" I'm really not sure why I started it, but it stuck. I didn't realize how much I said it until one day I heard Addy say "oh Cameron Diaz." And now whenever Cameron cries Addy usually says, "it's ok Cameron, it's ok." or she'll say "Oh Cameron Diaz."

I'm sorry Cameron, I really am.

Seussical the Musical

Today I took Adelyn to see her first musical. A local school was putting on a production of Dr. Seuss songs and given Addy's enthusiasm for Dr. Seuss books I thought she might enjoy it. It was fantastic! The main story was about Horton the Elephant and Addy has probably heard that story about fifty times so it was familiar to her. Addy loved the show and paid attention to every minute (all 2 hours!) She loved the songs and of course all of the Dr. Seuss characters. Afterwards she said that maybe when she's a big kid she can go up on the stage and sing too. I told her it was so special to see her first musical and she immediately said, "if you take me to another one then I will go to two musicals!" I think Brian may have found himself a replacement to go to shows with me!

Perspective

On Sunday I took both kids to Addy's friend Luella's house for a play date. Luella's mom was home with Luella and the twins (who are about 9 months) and was alone for 4 days while her husband was traveling. I was just coming off what I thought was a big week of going back to work and juggling a new schedule and within 5 minutes I had a whole new perspective. Dealing with a needy 3 year old is hard. Adding to that, two 9 month old babies, is really hard. I was so impressed with her and it instantly made me feel like my situation is more than manageable. We had a great time and managed the chaos pretty successfully. It made me ready to take on another week and to think twice before thinking anything is too much to handle. Sometimes all you need is a little perspective.

Munchkins

Not much of a story here, ok, so no story here. Just some random adorable photos of my munchkins from the last couple weeks. Who needs words when you have such cute pictures?

3 months

Cameron was 3 months on Wednesday and has really started to change recently. He is starting to grab for things and hold onto them and put them in his mouth. He is very strong on his tummy. I think he will be rolling over soon and my bet is that he will crawl before Addy did. We also put him in the bumpo chair and he can sit up in it. He's a pretty consistent sleeper, he gets up twice a night but usually gives me 5 hours before the first time he wakes up. He likes listening to stories and still loves his activity gym. He has gotten better with the bottle, but still sometimes refuses it, but once he gets hungry enough he happily takes it. He is getting ticklish under his chin and arms and his giggle is more of a squeal right now but I can tell he is getting close to letting loose a great big giggle. We can't wait!

Little Red Riding Hood

Heather and Andrew came bearing gifts for Addy and Cameron, and as usual they were extremely thoughtful and unique. Heather had made a little bunny rattle for Cameron which was adorable and just perfect for him. For Addy, she made an awesome "cape" that is just like little red riding hood.  Heather gave it to Addy and then read her the original fairy tale (translated from German). Addy of course loved it and had lots of questions about why the wolf wanted to eat little red riding hood and her grandma, it was super funny. Addy wore the cape right away and several times again during the trip.
