Little Swimmer

Addy recently started swimming lessons again and it's been night and day from how she started on the last ones. She gets in the water right away, she listens to the teacher and she does everything that is asked, even jumping in and putting her face in!
Best of all she's actually having fun doing it so that makes it even better!

Open Gym

I was home on Monday with the kids and we went to the gymnastics place that we used to take Addy when she was little. It was Cameron's first time and it was so much fun. He was climbing and running and jumping everywhere. Of course I forgot to take photos, but seeing him run down the trampoline ramp was absolutely hilarious. He would run super fast and then fall onto his belly and laugh and then get up and do it all again, over and over again. Addy had a blast too because her friend Sabrina went with her and they got to do everything together.

Big Brother?

Last weekend we headed down to the waterfront because it was sunny and looked like a great day for a walk, but once we got down there we realized it was COLD! But that didn't stop us and it certainly didn't stop Cameron. He wanted out of the stroller and walked everywhere. Addy was actually so cold she wanted in the stroller. It was a total role reversal and felt like Cameron was the big brother. He runs already and is always on the move!

Another day we went outside and again Addy didn't want to ride her bike or do anything, so I put Cameron on the trike and he loved it! His feet didn't reach the pedals but that didn't stop him. Here are some shots of our big little brother.

Time Away

This past weekend Brian and I were fortunate enough to get a weekend away and my Dad and Kathy came to help take care of the kids. It was our first trip together without kids since our "babymoon" before having Addy. It was wonderful. We missed the kids of course, but we also realized we had missed parts of our "pre-kid" life. Luckily the kids did not miss us at all. They couldn't wait to get us out of the house so they "could have all of the fun with Papa and Kathy." The kids kept them busy, Addy made them read a million books and Cameron made them change a million diapers (he pooped 7 times in the first day!) A great time was had by all and it was hard to get back into the regular routine again. Maybe we'll have to make this a yearly thing!

13 months

Cameron is now 13 months old. It feels like he's aged 6 months in the last 4 weeks. He is FAST and disappears within seconds. A few times now I've "lost" him in the house and it's always shocking to me how quickly he can make his away throughout the house. He is obsessed with food and does not allow anyone to eat in front of him without making them share with him. He is also extremely social. He smiles at everyone, will go to anyone and his teachers say he is always playing with the other kids. Sometimes too much. The other day they told me that he likes to "tackle" the other kids, which came as no surprise to me since he loves to do that with Addy also.
He also had to go to the doctor today because he has a terrible rash and they confirmed he already weighs 25 pounds 10 oz! No wonder we're tired.

Birthday Parties

About a month ago Addy got to go to her friend Sabrina's birthday party which was at the children's museum. It was awesome because she got to see her best pals Luella and Sabrina again. I've written about them countless times, but there truly is something precious about the bond these girls share. Even though they rarely see each other now, they are still so happy to see each other and play very well together.

Well today was Luella's birthday so the girls got to get together again.  This one was memorable because it was Addy's first "drop-off" party. I dropped her off and when I came back she was very upset because she wasn't ready to leave. Luckily I got to document the fun with my phone. Who doesn't love a birthday party!

Happy New Year

Here we go! Another year in the rearview mirror, feels like the fastest one yet. It was an incredible year and I feel like 2014 is going to be even more exciting. We didn't do anything extravagant last night (I can't really remember the last time we did) but we did let Addy stay up to watch the ball drop in NYC and to see the fireworks on TV, we even heard a few real ones. She loved everything up until we told her that 2013 was over and it was a new year. She then burst into tears and said, "but I don't want it to be over, I don't want new year's to be over."  Lots of tears later she decided it was ok and we decided it was time for bed. Here is to a Happy New Year of 2014!
