Nine times out of ten if I ask Addy if she wants me to put her hair in a pony she will say no. I realize that there isn't much to put in a pony, but I like to pretend and I want her to let me once she really does have a full head of hair. But sometimes, I am able to get creative and she begs for pony tails. Last night was one of those times and luckily Brian was able to document my success.

Texts
Before heading home every night I send Brian a text saying I'm on my way. Now Addy knows the sound and knows it's me and says "mama" and she had Brian have a song they sing when I send my text. It goes, "Mama will be home in 30 minutes, Mama will be home in 30 minutes." Followed by 20 minutes, and 10, and so on.
Last week I had to travel for work so the song was changed to "Mama will be home in 4 days, Mama will be home in 4 days." and then 3, 2 and so on.
Last night Brian and I switched picking up Addy so when he texted me saying he was on his way Addy got confused and asked "Daddy will be home in a couple of days?" and when I told her he would be home in 30 minutes she said "Daddy not in Germany?" I think I have thoroughly confused this poor child.

My Quotable Kid
We have finally gotten to make use of our book to write down some of the funny things that Addy says. Here are a few of our favorites so far:
Brian to Addy: "Oh, Addy, are you pooping right now?"
Addy: "No pooping, just tooting."
Addy to Brian while he is on the computer: "I wanna check my email."
Addy to me after seeing me run away from a cat in the street (yes I really did that) "Mama, you scared of cats? You run away?"
Addy to me after cutting a second piece of dessert of which she doesn't get any. "That's enough Mama, put that away!"

Potty Time
We have decided to step up our game when it comes to trying to get Addy potty-trained. She hasn't shown a lot of interest in it, but we recently got her some pull-ups and it appears to be making a big difference. Addy is much more interested in sitting on the potty and after just 1 day in pull-ups she actually went poop on the potty (I'm sorry Addy, but it's really exciting and I have to share). Today Brian texted me to tell me she peed in the potty too. This is huge progress! Her teachers at school are working on it with her as well. She is quite proud of herself and it is definitely the main topic of conversation at our house right now. Seriously, I never thought being a parent would involve so many conversations surrounding when, how often and how much your child goes to the bathroom.

First Hair Cut
I finally was able to admit that Addy does have some hair, but I've been clear that she still has a long ways to go. Her hair in the back is actually getting fairly long, but paired with her hair in the front it still screams mullet. So, when Gramma Wendy was here, she offered to straighten up Addy's hair in the back to try and make it look fuller.
We set Addy up on the stool in the kitchen and she was perfect. She was just like she is at the doctor. I'm not even sure if she took a breath during the whole thing. Addy's hair is more uniform and looks better in the back, but I wish we could transplant some hair from the back to the front!
Also, Adelyn allowed Gramma to put her hair in a pony tail, which she never lets me do. And, one day this week she came home with a pony tail and was so excited that her teacher put one in. Apparently, she doesn't trust her mama's pony tail skills.

Too Cute
Addy got spoiled even more last week because after spending a few days at home because of the snowstorm, she got to spend 4 more days with Gramma & Grandpa. Scott and Wendy made it in safely amidst the winter weather and got to spend lots of quality time with Addy. They took her to gymnastics, met several of her friends, went to the aquarium, played games with her and of course read lots and lots of books. Addy was a dream for them and saved her crying and tantrums for only when we were home. Brian and I were also spoiled and got a few hours of free time while they took Addy to the aquarium. We love it when grandparents are in town!
