Brian and I have made a conscious effort to not raise a spoiled child, but it certainly feels like all efforts are in vain when it comes to birthdays and Christmas. Addy got a TON of fabulous gifts, loved them all and is one very lucky, spoiled little girl.
Here are a few photos of her enjoying all of her incredible new stuff. At least she was very appreciative of everything she got and is still enjoying it days later.

Happy 3rd Birthday!
Last weekend we celebrated Addy's 3rd birthday. On Saturday we hosted a party with 11 kids five and under. It was chaos and it was so much fun! It was a costume party (of course!) and Adelyn was so excited to be Cinderella. She was the perfect princess and had so much fun with her friends. My favorite part was when all of the girls were running and screaming back and forth around the house, they were laughing so hard it was priceless. Addy is very excited to be 3 years old and we can't believe how fast this has gone by!

Pumpkin Farm
It was another great Fall day so Addy and I headed over to a local farm. In addition to pumpkins they had all kinds of animals; goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, peacocks, turkeys and my favorite, cats. It was clear that Addy is my daughter because she was completely scared of getting too close to any of the animals. I had to laugh because there was one section of the farm that was just a garden and some kids came out from that area saying it was boring because there were no animals, Addy heard this and said "I want to go in there."
She did ok with most of the animals but her favorite part was at the end with the fake wooden animals and the pumpkins! Here are a few photos illustrating my attempt to get pictures of her, she was not really that into it. And no, it wasn't really that sunny. She just insisted on being "Hollywood."

Deep Thoughts
Addy has had some quotes lately that totally remind me of those old "Deep Thoughts" skits on SNL. Here are the ones I can remember, but there are literally a million more.
"I want to carry all of these things in my hands, but then all of these things will be in my hands and that would be a lot of things."
"Can you put a lot of milk in my cereal because I want a lot of milk in my cereal and if you do then I will have a lot of milk in my cereal."
"I didn't do that but maybe just a little bit I did that because I did it."
To Brian,"I love you Daddy", to me, "I just told Daddy that I love him" to Brian "I will tell Mama I love her" to me "I love you Mama." To both of us "now you say you love me."
"I love this book because every day I want to read this book so you always need to read me this book every day."
"Once I give all of these out then I won't have any left because they will be all gone."
"This is our old car because it's old and the other car is our new car because it's new."

Pumpkin Patch
This past weekend Addy and I went to my favorite pumpkin patch. We found out about it from my coworker Heather and this year we met her and her family there. The girls had so much fun picking out pumpkins (the little ones were their favorites) and riding in the "John Deer bike barn", swinging and riding in the wagon. It has been a perfect fall season for weather and it again reminded me how much I love this time of year.

The Giving Tree
About a month or so ago, Adelyn discovered the book "The Giving Tree" and it quickly became part of our nightly ritual. She wanted me to read it every night which I was happy to do because I absolutely love that book. As the nights went on she began to know more and more of the book herself and I just had to ask Brian to record her. This is my little bookworm "reading" The Giving Tree to me. It's now several weeks old and she knows it even better, but this is just so sweet it melts my heart. And it's very long, I know.

Quotes
A few quotes from Adelyn that made us laugh out loud:
Almost every night Addy wants to sleep with a book and since we already read so many books before bed sometimes it's a book we don't actually have time to read and sometimes it's several books if I don't feel like arguing with her. One night she slept with 3 books and in the morning when I went into her room she pointed to the books and said "I didn't read those books yet because I don't know how to read."
Addy was in her playroom that was covered with toys and she carefully walked over one of the toys and said "I need to walk over that like this because I'm dangerous!"
Addy saw a house with a flower pot by their front door and said to Brian, "oh look at the pretty flowers in the pot! Someday I want you to put me in the pot!"
Addy is obsessed with my growing belly and is always talking about the babies in her belly. The other night she said to me, "you only have my baby brother in your belly, I have twin sisters in my belly and their names are Milky and Booty."
