On MLK day since the kids didn't have school, Brian brought them downtown to have lunch with me. We had dim sum in the international district and he took them to a park beforehand and they played outside after they got home. It sounded like a really fun day off, but of course when I got home from work, the kids were still complaining that they didn't do anything fun.
Brian recapped the day for them and reminded them of all of the fun things they did and Addy just said, "but there were still things we did that were boring."
We reminded Addy that every day there are boring things that you do, but sometimes they just have to be done, like getting in the car to get somewhere. She just responded with "yeah but you guys are adults and adults just always have to do boring stuff everyday. I'm a kid and just want to do fun stuff everyday."
Hard to argue with the logic of a six year old.
